What should I wear?
All volunteers must wear close toed shoes and long pants for safety. Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty and are weather appropriate. Any additional safety gear such as goggles or gloves will be provided as needed.
Can I bring food?
We ask that you leave food and drinks (other than water) in the car so that our animal residents do not accidentally end up with them. Any food or drinks consumed on site should be vegan (no meat, eggs, or dairy) out of respect for the rescued animals in our care.
Can I bring kids?
Kids 14 and older are welcome to volunteer with a parent or guardian present.
If you have younger children who would like to visit the sanctuary, be sure to sign up for our newsletter, as we'll soon be announcing tour dates.
What will I be doing?
Projects will vary but may include barn cleaning, gardening, building structures, removing Azolla from the duck pond, preparing food for the animals, and more.
Where should I go? The sanctuary is located at 3201 Napa Road, Sonoma, CA 95476. When you arrive, take the first immediate right turn and park at the large barn on the left just past the white gate.
We have a lot of hay and alfalfa on site so if you suspect this may trigger your allergies please plan accordingly.
